Nature looks so much more beautiful, the food tastes so much more delicious, and my body feels so much more alive when you are around. Thank you for joining me today.

We headed north since we love Marin County. The combination of redwoods and ocean is magical. My favorite part of this drive from the East Bay starts as we cross Richmond Bridge and Mount Tam unfolds before our eyes. As we approach our destination, the road winds in and out of different ecosystems, and each turn offers breathtaking new views. The sun was out, love was in the air, and everything always appears so much more beautiful when I slow down and breathe in the gift nature has to offer.
When visiting Point Reyes, California, here are activities that offer a unique way to connect with nature and each other, creating memorable connections.
Explore the Point Reyes National Seashore: Beautiful beaches, wildlife, and hiking trails. It's great for nature lovers and photographers. It's a unique natural sanctuary encompassing over 71,000 acres, including approximately 80 miles of pristine coastline. The National Park Service protects and manages this area, known for its rich biodiversity and stunning landscapes. Look for overlooks along the way. One of our favorites is Peter Behr Overlook.
Visit the Point Reyes Lighthouse: It's a romantic spot, especially during sunset. The Lighthouse, constructed in 1870, is a beacon of safety against the foggy and treacherous Point Reyes Headlands.
Hike to Alamere Falls: A moderately challenging hike that leads to one of the few tidefalls in the world. Alamere Falls cascades over a 30-foot-tall cliff onto Wildcat Beach in the Point Reyes National Seashore. The waterfall merges with the Pacific Ocean, set against the expansive, rugged coastline. The contrast of the white, frothy waterfalls against the dark cliffs and the vast blue ocean creates a breathtaking and memorable scene, especially during sunset when the sky lights up with vibrant colors. This panoramic view, encompassing the sea, beach, and waterfall, offers a sense of serenity and awe, making it a rewarding finale.
Enjoy a Picnic at Heart's Desire Beach: This secluded beach is perfect for a romantic picnic with calm waters and scenic views. Unlike many other beaches in the Point Reyes area that face the open ocean, Heart's Desire Beach is situated along the more tranquil waters of Tomales Bay. This sheltered location produces gentler waves and warmer water, ideal for swimming and family-friendly beach activities.
Visit the Tule Elk Reserve: Home to a large population of Tule Elk, this reserve offers a unique wildlife viewing experience.
Tour Local Creameries and Farms: Point Reyes is known for its artisanal cheeses. Take a tour of local creameries, like the Cowgirl Creamery, and sample some delicious products.
Dine at a Local Seafood Restaurant: Enjoy fresh, locally sourced seafood at one of the many excellent restaurants in the area. We've enjoyed Tonys Seafood Restuarant. For brunch, we skipped the seafood and visited Station House Cafe in the adorable town of Point Reyes Station. The menu was unique, and everything we tried was beautiful and delicious.
Explore the Town of Point Reyes Station: This charming small town offers galleries, shops, and cozy cafes.
Star Gazing: The minimal light pollution in Point Reyes makes it an ideal spot for stargazing. Bring a blanket and enjoy the night sky.
Bird Watching: The area is a haven for birdwatchers, with many species to be seen, especially in the Point Reyes National Seashore.
